MalaysiaGeographic Structures

Malaysia, comprising of Peninsula, Sarawak and Sabah, is located in the region of South East Asia. The Peninsular Malaysia (Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Selangor, Perak, Kedah, Penang, Perlis, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang) is bordered on the North by Thailand, on the South by Singapore, on the West by the Strait of Malacca, and on the East by South China Sea. The states of Sabah and Sarawak occupy the northern third of the island of Borneo, and are bordered on the North and West by the South China Sea, on the East by the Sula and Celebes seas, and on the South by the Indonesian province of Kalimantan. There are 3 Federal Territories in Malaysia, namely Kuala Lumpur, Pulau Labuan, and the latest government center, Putrajaya. Among these 3 territories, Kuala Lumpur is currently the busiest city, serving as the international gateway to Malaysia.

Hot and Humid Climate

Malaysia's climate, except in the high mountains, is hot and humid throughout the year. Average daily temparatures vary from about 21 - 32 degrees celcius.


The currency of Malaysia, is traded as Ringgit Malaysia (Ringgit Malaysia), with the sign of RM. In terms of ISO recognition code, Malaysia Currency is coded as MYR.


Malaysia has a federal government based on the 1957 constitution of the former Federation of Malaya, and including safeguards for the special interests of Sabah and Sarawak. It has been amended several times; amendments in 1974 and 1984 respectively established Kuala Lumpur and Labuan as federal territories. In general, Malaysia is comprising of Federal Constitutional Monarchy while practicing democratic system.

Multi-racial Nation

Besides, Malaysia is also well known as a harmony multi-racial nation, with the 3 major ethnic groups, namely Malay, Chinese, and Idian. Each community is respecting each other's cultures, customs, and believes; establishing a single identity - Malaysian. Thus, the slogan of "Peaceful Malaysia" is a perfect match.


Due to enrichment of wide racial varsity, Malaysia is filled with various unique cultural activities. In terms of spoken languages, even though Bahasa Malaysia (Malay language) is recognized as the national language; but, English and Chinese languages are commonly spoke everywhere. Besides, various Chinese dialects, such as Hokkien and Cantonese, are commonly practiced as well.

With the out-standing and great leaders, Malaysia is constantly moving towards the status of developed nation, and on the track of realizing the Vision 2020. Undoubtedly, the excellent performance of Malaysians in various fields and arenas are well-recognized across the world.
