Taiping Lake Garden, PerakPerak Darul Ridzuan, the Land of Grace, covers an area of 21,000 square kilometres and has a population of about two million. It is believed that the state derived its name, which means silver in Malay, from the silvery tin ore.

  Bukit Merah Lake Town
  Bukit Merah Laketown, Perak The latest tourism attraction in Perak is the northern region's first water theme park at Bukit Merah Lake. The theme park is part of a 600ha lake town resort development. Among the exciting water activities highlights are the giant wave pool, games pool, adult and children's slow river rides, kid's water playground, giant bubble, three giant water flume rides, three raft tube rides and twin speed slides.
  Gua Tempurung
  Gua Tempurung, Perak Gua Tempurong, stretching over 1.3km, is believed to have been in existence since 8000 BC. The cave is probably the largest natural limestone cave in Malaysia. Gua Tempurung is a show cave with electric lighting and walkways, and a variety of tour options. The short tours provide basic information of the cave, and is suitable for those who don't want to get dirty. On the other hand, the longer adventurous excursions, which normall take 2 to 3 1/2 hours, require the visitors to pass through the underground water and come out on the other side of the cave. You will be able to see various stalactite and stalagmite formations, many of which are still growing.

  Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary, Perak The Kuala Gula Bird Sanctuary is located in the district of Kerian in the state of Perak. The main objective of creating the sanctuary is to protect migratory and resident bird species, which have been using the wetland area for many years. The migratory birds utilise the large mudflat area for feeding and resting during their migratory route from the northern to the southern hemisphere. Tens of thousands of migratory birds comprising 48 species of 8 families visit Kuala Gula from September until April each year.

  Perak Tong
  Perak Tong, Perak Within the huge limestone caves of Gunung Tasik, nestles the Perak Tong. Built in 1926 by Buddhists priests from China, the temple houses over 40 Buddha statues with the centrepiece being a 12.8-metre high sitting Buddha. Beyond the main altar, there is a passage which leads into the cave's interior. After a steep climb of 385 steps, the cave opens again to reveal a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside.
